我们正处在加快从传统社会向现代社会、乃至后现代社会跃迁的步伐。知识、技能和信息在经济社会生活中的作用越来越重要。知识爆炸、信息爆炸是最显著的时代特征。现代信息技术和传媒力量的崛起，使知识、技能和信息传播日新月异、迅猛发展。传统的农业推广受到极大挑战，新的市场化、大推广格局发展壮大，农业推广品牌化建设加速推进。对此，有必要给予理性回应。
当代西方资本主义发达国家的农业发展经验表明，大农场排挤小农场是不可逆转的客观经济规律，马克思主义经典作家关于“小农制趋于衰亡”的科学论断并没有过时，所谓“小农经济富有生命力”的理论是站不住脚的。当前我国亟待解决的两大实践难题是如何实现小农制与现代农业的有效衔接,如何培育和发展资本农业, 归结起来就是“人往哪里去”和“钱从哪里来”。

利用四川省509个农户的调查数据，运用多元Logit模型对农户采用有风险技术的意愿及其影响因素进行实证分析。研究表明：农户采用有风险技术的意愿受多种因素影响：农户的受教育程度、人均家庭纯收入、农产品商品率与农户采用有风险技术呈正相关关系；从事农业生产的年限与农户采用有风险技术呈负相关关系；农业技术培训随具体情况的不同与农户采用有风险技术呈双向相关关系。
