灵长类昼夜行为的转化是灵长类适应新环境的结果,同时也是相关性状适应性进化的原因。随着灵长类昼夜节律的改变,灵长类的生活环境发生明显改变,而导致相关生理、形态及行为性状也发生变化。因此灵长类昼夜行为的变化在灵长类进化过程中扮演了重要的角色,然而灵长类昼夜行为进化历史中的两个核心问题尚未解决:第一,灵长类共同祖先的昼夜节律类型尚存在争议;第二,昼夜行转化发生在何时尚不清楚。
