由全国汉语方言学会和暨南大学文学院中文系联合主办、香港中文大学吴多泰中国语文研究中心协办的第三届国际汉语方言语法研讨会于2006年12月2日至4日在广州举行，来自中国各地和加拿大、日本、新加坡的近百位学者出席了会议。本次会议以“汉语方言语法的比较研究（包括横向比较和纵向比较）”为主题，共收到论文85篇。学者们分别在大会上和讨论组中宣读了论文，并进行了讨论和交流。
