我国首个钻井船总包建造项目、世界最大深海钻井船项目2010年8月22日在中远船务集团公司大连基地开工。这艘名为“大连开拓者”号的深海钻井船开工建造，将填补国内海工装备制造业在钻井船建造领域的技术空白，打破长期以来韩国企业对世界钻井船建造市场的垄断局面。
