德国2010年4月7日公布的一项医学调查结果显示，男性血液中雄性激素——睾酮的浓度偏低会增加男性的死亡风险。
德国格赖夫斯瓦尔德大学科研人员领导的研究小组，对近2000名20岁至79岁德国男性的血睾酮水平与健康的关系进行了平均长达7年的跟踪调查分析，调查期内共有195名男性死亡，该研究将血液中的睾酮浓度低于每分升250纳克界定为偏低。
