据英国《自然》杂志27日报道，日本“超级神冈”（Super-K）中微子天文台是迄今同类中微子探测器中的“带头大哥”，于今年1月完成重大升级，将继续捕获遥远的超新星发出的中微子，以揭示超新星的历史以及其他宇宙谜团。
借助卫星观测数据，美国研究人员揭示了太阳风与地球磁场“交锋”后在电子尺度发生的能量转化过程，为地球磁场保护地球大气免遭太阳风“伤害”提供了新证据。太阳风是太阳上层大气射出的带电粒子流。地球绕太阳旋转过程中，会穿过太阳风。太阳风与地球磁场相遇处会形成激波，被称为弓形激波，看起来就像破浪前进的摩托艇前方形成的弓形波浪。
美国研究人员2018年5月7日在美国《国家科学院院刊》上发表报告称，通过对古老岩石的分析，他们找到了地球公转轨道40.5万年周期循环假设的首个物理证据，研究表明，这一周期循环在地球气候变化过程中扮演着重要角色。
