保定学院体育学院始建于1986年，是河北省最早创立的体育系科。现有体育教育、休闲体育和体育经济与管理三个本科专业。为进一步完善人才培养方案，优化专业结构，与社会需求密切联系，2022年，经教育部批准，体育学院新增设了冰雪运动专业，成为继北京体育大学、河北体育学院等院校之后全国第八所开设该专业的高校。
