中亚是“一带一路”的重要节点，国民经济以农牧业为主。近10多年来中亚地区冬季频发持续性极端低温事件，给当地造成严重灾害。持续性极端低温事件的产生往往与中高纬大气季节内振荡有关，研究中亚地区冬季气温季节内变率及其形成机理具有重要意义。
热带印度洋和大西洋海温的变化及机制是目前国际气候研究的热点。已有的研究表明，北印度洋（North Indian Ocean, NIO）和热带北大西洋（tropical North Atlantic, TNA）海温的变化，会通过海气相互作用影响西北太平洋地区的环流系统，从而对东亚天气气候造成显著影响。
海洋生物-物理过程的交互作用是当前海洋研究的热点话题，海洋中的浮游植物不仅是被动的受动力过程影响，还可以改变辐射加热的垂直分布，进而影响海温、环流、海水密度和混合层深度等。西北太平洋黑潮延伸体附近的混合层深度在三月份达到最深，形成垂向均一的水体，称为模态水。混合层于四月份迅速变浅，这些垂向均一的水体随东南向的Sverdrup流潜沉到温跃层。模态水能记忆冬季海水特征，可能会在次年冬天重新进入混合层。...
