黄柏（黄菠萝）为芸香科落叶乔木，有清热解毒、泻火燥湿等功能。主治湿热泻痢、黄疸、小便淋沥涩痛、赤白带下、热毒疮疡、湿疹、阴虚、盗汗等症；其木质细腻是建筑和用做家具的上等原料，可以说黄柏是药木两用植物。目前黄柏野生资源严重缺乏，被列为国家一级重点保护植物，人工栽培前景广阔。

林业资源与生态研究室，主要从事林果树种的林果种质资源收集、评价、保存和利用研究，林果逆境生理研究，盐碱地资源开发利用研究，城市森林生态研究，林下经济研究，林果资源与遗传多样性分析评价、种质创新，林果新品种培育和引种驯化等方面的科学研究与技术开发。现有研究员1名，副研究员7名，拥有博士学位研究人员3名。目前在研项目3项，发表论文5篇，其中SCI论文3篇。
