沙赫特. 斯坦利（schachter，stanley 1922～）美国心理学家。出生于美国，1942年获耶鲁大学学士学位，1944年获硕士学位，嗣后求学于芝加哥大学，1950年获芝加哥大学哲学博士学位。本世纪5O年代初，他获阿姆斯特丹大学富布赖特奖学金，后供职于比较社会研究所多年。沙赫特的大部分职业生涯在哥伦比亚大学度过，196O年后任哥伦比亚大学心理学系教授。
斯坦利·霍尔（Granville Stanley Hall 1844－1924），美国心理学家、教育家，美国第一位心理学哲学博士，是美国心理学会的创立者，发展心理学的创始人，将精神分析引入到新大陆的第一人。作为冯特的第一个美国学生，他在冯特的影响下在美国创办第一个心理实验室的心理学家。他出生于美国马萨诸塞州艾士非（Ashfield）的乡村，病逝于美国马萨诸塞州渥斯特（Worcester）。
