重庆于2009年秋季正式进入高中新课改实验区。一线教师是新课程改革的具体执行者和实施者。教育部2005年的一项调查显示，重庆市40岁以下的高中英语教师占全体高中英语教师的77%。随着重庆市高中的逐步普及，这一比例还将进一步提高。重庆市高中英语青年教师专业发展水平能否适应高中新课改的要求。
