中国语言学院的前身是中语系，于2011年8月由原语言系和汉语教学研究部整合成立，现设有汉语言、维吾尔语言、汉语国际教育3个本科专业，有中国语言文学学科下属的语言学及应用语言学、汉语言文字学和中国少数民族语言文学3个二级学科硕士学位授权点；同时还承担着全校预科教育、大学语文教学任务，已形成包括研究生教育、本科教育、预科教育等多层次办学体系。

中国传媒大学人文学院前身是北京广播学院语言文学部，后发展为北京广播学院文学院、文法学部中文系、语言系。2018年7月，中文系、语言学系与汉语国际教育中心重新组合，成立中国传媒大学人文学院，开启了新征程。
国家语言资源监测与研究有声媒体中心成立于2005年9月16日，是教育部语言文字信息管理司和中国传媒大学共建的研究中心。中心依托中国传媒大学在传媒领域的学科特色和综合优势，以理论研究为基础、应用研究为重点、服务国家为目标，开展有组织、开放型的科学研究。中心在媒体语言资源积累、语言工具开发、语言数据应用、语言工程建设以及语言监测成果为国家服务、为社会服务等方面具有鲜明特色。
浙江大学外国语言文化与国际交流学院语言学研究所于2004年10月正式成立。研究所所址在浙江大学紫金港校区东五教学楼的405-406室。现有成员12位，其中有三位教授、四位副教授、五位讲师。成员中有一位博士生导师，四位硕士生导师；一位具有博士学位，三位在攻读博士学位。研究所的理论语言学方向为：句法学，语义学，语用学，功能语法，认知语言学，话语分析，心理语言学。
